Here’s how to use a color analyst tool for free on TikTok.
- Start in a room with good light. Take off all makeup.
- Open TikTok (start an account if you don’t have one)
- Press the big white plus + button, as though you were starting a video.
- Press 10m (10 minutes), so you have some time to look at the different colors.
- Press “Effects” in the lower left corner.
- Type color analysis tool into the search icon (looks like a magnifying glass). A list of color analyst filters will come up
- Pick a color analyst filter by tapping the video camera in the red square next to it. (We recommend “Color Season Analysis” for a seasonal wheel that’s easy to use.)
- Hold the device so that your face is centered in the color wheel, with only a little hair showing.
- On this one, you can change the season by tapping the arrow left or right.
- Tap the red button to record, if you want to record your choice.
- Pick the color or color palette that makes your skin, hair and eyes look their best.
- Alternately try “color analysis” for a tool that drapes one color around your face.
